Rural Retreat
The grounds incorporate the ruins of a Cistercian Abbey, a small museum, a reconstructed watermill and a number of estate buildings used by artists etc. It is understandably a popular venue for parties. There is ample parking.
We stayed here for 4 nights in a very comfortable well equipped apartment (very large studio/dining area+bedroom+bathroom+utility- with washing m/c, drier etc.) in converted outbuildings adjacent to the hotel and restaurant. We had splendid views.
Our one problem was with the bedroom which was small compared with the rest of the accommodation and, being under the eaves, had awkward headroom and, therefore, difficult access to one side of the bed.
We used the restaurant once -with German guests - and all enjoyed the meal from a varied menu in a pleasant setting.
Compared with other places we stayed on this trip, this was very reasonable and good value for a special location. We would recommend it.

Adventessen
Ausgezeichnetes Essen, freundlicher Chef und Personal.
Sehr schönes Ambiente. Fotos sind aus der Remise. In ruhiger Umgebung, ideal für Spaziergänge. Direkt neben Klosterruine Hude gelegen. Wunderbares Motiv für Hochzeitsfotos. Die Klosterschänke ist gut für Feierlichkeiten geeignet. Ein kleiner Klosterladen mit kleinen Köstlichkeiten gehört auch dazu.
