We are usually happy with very little. This time there was too much going on to look the other way. First of all, when we arrived, we were told to go to another "sister" hotel owned by the same group. No reason was given. And we were told to come back the next day. We were no charged more and we were not given any discount either. Just the first night in another hotel. When we came back the next day, still no explanation was given.
The hotel walls and doors are paper thin: you can basically hear other guests breathing in neighbouring rooms. At first look the room looks nice and renovated but if you take a closer look, you see that there are bits and pieces all over the place. There was an electricity blackout in our room, never happened in any other hotel before.
During our stay there was a knock on the door. Some guy was doing "security checks" in the rooms. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and I have never experienced this before.
And as a cherry on the top: our key card malfunctioned every day and it had to be reprogrammed all over again at the reception.
Nevertheless the breakfast was nice even if it was very basic.
