Holiday stay, 11 nights, 12/09/2017
This accomodation is in a very quiet location. The host 'George' is very helpful, along with his elderly mother Virginia who is a lovely little old lady,and never seems to stop. She doesn't speak English unfortunately,but was always welcoming, even though we arrived very late at night.. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean. We had a free run of the house, and could have used the kitchen if we had wanted to. Downside: Needs new and more pillows in the room. House sounds very hollow, and when a door bangs it sounds throughout the house. can be quite disturbing if someone is leaving early and you're trying to have a lie in. No TV or WIFI.
But to be fair this is budget and right on the money.

Wonderful views from the terraces
We stayed here one night while walking the Via Algarviana. The hotel is quite hard to find and we ended up arriving via the rear entrance (the main entrance is on an adjacent street next to a village store). The elderly owner was very friendly (but doesn't speak English) and showed us to several rooms inviting us to choose our own. Our room was en suite and scrupulously clean with a shared terrace. Facilities are basic and there were no toiletries provided. Breakfast is not provided but you can probably buy bread in the village store. The views from the various terraces back towards the Serra de Monchique are stunning. We also enjoyed the street sculptures and artwork dotted around Barao de Sao Joao. We ate in the local tapas bar where the food was average, but were eventually driven away early by the loud live music.

Very basic traditional Portuguese 'hotel'
We stayed here one night as we were watching a band in the village. Very hard to find as the village is small with winding, narrow roads - some of which are one way ! There is no parking outside the actual place. The rooms are EXTREMELY basic and the old lady that welcomed us did not speak a word of English - luckily we could speak Portuguese else it could have been very difficult. Fine for an overnight stay in this small village in the middle of nowhere with a few bars that serve reasonable food. Cheap price for the room so you get what you pay for ! There is a large 'hippy' community in the village which may be off putting to some.

Como en casa!!
Lo mejor la cercanía y amabilidad de Virginia, un encanto de señora, como si estubieramos en casa. Lugar familiar y con encanto, típica casa de pueblo en un pequeño pueblecito con encanto y cerca de Lagos y Sagres. Tranquilo y acojedor y con todo lo justo y necesario. Gracias por todo, volveremos.

Casa sem limpeza, maus cheiros, nojento, sem condições para ser alojamento. Quando fIz parte da rota Algarviana utilizei este alojamento, mas revelou-se foi a pior experiência da minha vida. O mais grave é que questionamos o filho da Proprietária, sobre as deficiências desta casa, mas não assumiu nem esboçou qualquer sinal para rever ou remediar as anomalias, só demonstrando interesse em sacar dinheiro aos hóspedes. Com estas condições deveria estar encerrado, não aconselho, nem de graca,
