Dinner in hotel made it worth the visit
The grounds are beautiful very well maintained. Pool was pleasant, didn't understand the adults lounging around pool, but each to our own.
We had dinner at the hotel, service very slow waited 20 mins to be asked if we wanted a drink. I would have expected them to pour the drinks but that didn't happen.
We both had the duck my goodness it was lovely, fat could have been rendered down a bit more but it was so tender melted like butter. We would go back just for the duck.
Breakfast the following morning was good, fantastic buffet selection, hot food was tasty porches eggs slightly over cooked but still tasty.
Booking out was 1100, but at 1020 we had a knock on the door a man standing with bedding asked us are we going. Reminded him we had till 1100, but we felt rushed to leave so left 5 mins later.
Overall is was a pleasant night, but so glad we didn't pay full price. We would have been so disappointed and not sure we would have stayed in that room.

And on the second day, the jacuzzi wasn't working at all.
There were no robes in anyone's rooms so people were having to chase around to find their own robes.
The bedroom was filled with cobwebs and was quite chilly, but somehow I managed to get burnt by the piping hot towel rail in the bathroom. A bit dangerous!
As a married couple, we wanted a romantic spa break so booked a double room. However, we ended up with twin beds pushed together. So no snuggles for us unfortunately.
The breakfast was okay, and the staff were very friendly, but we waited over 45mins for our breakfast to be cooked which took us past the 11am checkout time, and then we almost missed our cab to the station. Let's hope they don't deduct my account for late checkout.
Unfortunately I don't think we will be back again. Although the grounds are beautiful, the standards seem to be slipping.
