Overall, a very mid-experience, not the worst but certainly not the best.

I had to stay with my 13 year old son in a twin room as my Dad was unwell in hospital. I needed to book another night stay but had to pay £70 more than the previous night for the same standard twin room. I just payed it as my Dad is in hospital after having a heart attack.
The first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. 2 of the lights didnt work and there was a splash of something white and foamy on the wall next to the bedside table. I hoped it was some kind of cleaning product.
The second night we were moved to a new room thankfully.
Other wise breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly.

provided was varied and a big bonus. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that the double bed was quite uncomfortable due to a dip in the mattress. This was a shame as even budget hotels now offer king sized mattresses and bedrooms are refurbished regularly. I wonder whether the bed needed a refresh?
