Good for the price
Stayed at this hotel for one night in March. It is located on the edge of mundesley only a short walk to a lovely sandy beach. The room itself was only a single but I had plenty of space with nice yet small shower cubicle.
Check in/out staff were very friendly and informative
Bar and restaurant staff were great and very helpful.
The evening meal was a little disappointing mainly due to under cooked/soggy chips.
The breakfast was brilliant with everything cooked fresh and hot.
All in all I had a great stay

Keep walking!
Went for lunch today with a friend. We thought we’d take advantage of the 20% off food offer after seeing wonderful photos of the dishes online. Imagine our disappointment when we were served ‘chips’ that you wouldn’t feed to your pigs! They were grey, flat, undercooked and tasteless….basically inedible. The 6 pieces of scampi were undercooked whilst the burger was tolerable but I wouldn’t advise paying the extra for the cheese and bacon. Staff were very attentive and friendly…we almost felt embarrassed for them for serving us this food. Even if this was 100% off we wouldn’t go back. Grim

Lovely tasty Sunday lunch
Not visited the Royal for several years so booked for Sunday carvery. The hotel is clean and bright and the staff warm and welcoming. The dining room is large and there was a lively buzz when we walked in. There is a selection of three meats and a vast selection of vegetables, all looking and smelling gorgeous. The Yorkshire puds were lovely and crispy and definitely not Auntie Bessie’s! One small observation- the meat portion was carved for you and was a rather small portion. Maybe more should be offered for the larger appetite? At £12.00 per person it is amazing value for money and when we are next in the area we will be visiting again.

The stay was fine, upon our arrival our meeting was " fill in the form, follow the arrows to your room"
What I expected was " welcome to the royal, your room is on the third floor and arrows point out the way, do you require assistance with your bags"
The room was clean but the mirror was in the wrong place as there was no lights for makeup application.
The hotel is under refurbishment so allowance must be made.
One complaint is: we were the only guests and we went out and our room was not cleaned, we returned late in the evening looking forward to tea and biscuits, but were presented with an un made room. On check out we were told you should have said something but at 23:30 I'm sure no one would have been about. All we got was a 'sorry'.
Breakfast was ok but again microwave bacon is very crispy our second day we had poached eggs, strongly recommended.

Half price lunch at The Royal was lovely
My family and I had lunch at The Royal and it was very good, and even better as there was a 1/2 price Special in November. Fish and chips, red thai curry and green thai curry were all very good. Friendly staff, nice room and good service. We will go back soon.
