Disappointingly poor experience
However, this does not make up for the difficulties we experienced with our stay. Initially we had booked for five nights but due to circumstances needed to modify our reservation to only two nights until we could accrue enough funds for additional nights. Our first two nights were booked at a rate of $104. We were supposed to receive a two queen suite but when we arrived at the property we were notified that we were getting a regular two queen room. After a little bit of fuss they did provide the two queen suite at the price we were promised when we booked through the website. However when we extended our stay we were charged $136 for one of the subsequent nights and 156 for the other, bring our bill to a total of $567, not the rate that we were promised when we initially booked the 5 days.
Sadly the story does not end here. Our account was charged for the $330 for the three nights of extended stay on the day that we checked out. This would have been fine had we not been charged today, Christmas Day, for the full amount of our stay, essentially forcing us to pay for three of the nights that we were there twice. Due to a logistical error on the part of the hotel, our account was overdrawn and it is causing extensive financial hardship. We have been told that there is nothing they can do and that the charge will be removed on its own.
It's saddens us a great deal because we had excellent experiences The previous two times we stated this location. The staff members were attentive and friendly and very responsive. however, due to the experiences we had with our last stay, we will not be returning to this location at any point in the future nor will we be staying with any La Quinta hotels or any Wyndham hotels. We reached out to corporate and they were unable to resolve our concerns.
We do not recommend staying at this location as clearly their current staff are not as attentive to customer needs as they once were, with one or two exceptions, Michelle their excellent cook being one of them. Unfortunately, her excellent cooking does not make up for the poor experience we had with this hotel.

While I am pleased to hear that Michelle’s dedication and excellent breakfast service left a positive impression, it is clear that the overall experience did not meet your expectations—or our own standards.
First, I want to acknowledge the confusion and frustration regarding your room type and rate changes. It is unacceptable that your initial booking of a two-queen suite was not honored upon arrival without issue. I am glad we were able to resolve this, but it should never have been a point of contention to begin with. Additionally, the significant price discrepancies for your extended nights and the overall billing process clearly added undue stress to your stay.
The most concerning part of your experience is the double charge and the resulting financial hardship caused by this error. I understand how upsetting it must have been to experience this issue, especially during the holidays. While the process of reversing duplicate charges is often tied to banking timelines beyond our immediate control, it is unacceptable that the situation was not handled with more urgency or compassion by our team. Please rest assured that we will be addressing this with our staff to ensure we improve the handling of such sensitive matters moving forward.
It is incredibly disheartening to hear that this stay has changed your perception of both our hotel and our brand, especially after you had positive experiences with us in the past. We are committed to regaining your trust.
Thank you for highlighting Michelle’s hard work and dedication; I will ensure she receives the recognition she deserves. Your feedback also sheds light on areas where we must improve, and we will be working closely with my team to address these concerns and prevent similar situations from happening in the future.
