Our stay was for a quick overnight trip to the local casino. We had a late check in due to the 2 hour drive. The gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and entertaining. We headed up to the room. We then left shortly after to go to the casino. We came back 1.5hrs later around 2 am. I noticed that no one was in the lobby, but we didnt think anything about it. We reached our room, slid the key and the door lock made a noise and a red light appeared. My husband tried his key and it still did not work. So we went back down to the Lobby. No one was at the front desk. But there was a sign stating that Attendant has stepped away and to call the number that was written below. We talked and waited at front desk hoping they would hear us. Nothing. So i called the number, and informed them that we were locked out of our room and needed to get our cards fixed. I informed the person on the line that we had been waiting for 20 minutes, no one is at the front desk ans its 230 am. Put on hold while they called front desk. She comes back on the line and stated there was nothing else she could do because the front desk wasnt answer after many attempts. So we decided to knock on the door and the receptionist comes out and acted as if she didnt know we were there and stated that she didnt even hear the phone ring. We get our keys and go back to the room, get in bed and notice a good bit of hair on the sheets along the edge of the mattress. It being so late, we slept on top of blankets.

Room was not ready. The bedding was just thrown together. We were worried that they rushed the cleaning to get us in. Hotel is really worn and needs a lot of work

The room was clean. Plenty of towels, and amenities were great. I was a little upset by the dog walking area. And the 3 floors up that I had to take.
The dog walk area was very unsanitary, no one picks up poo and the trash bin was full and had no dog bags. There was no lighting in that area, so it was difficult to dodge the “land minds” everywhere.

Hampton is Awful

The hotel Fraudulently claims they have an "indoor pool." Upon arrival and trying to use the indoor pool, we discovered the water was freezing cold and unusable. We told the hotel staff. The staff acted surprised and told us that someone had just been there that morning (1/17/25) "working on it."
We were upset and cancelled the reservation for the following day. Later in the evening of 1/17/25, we decided to stay in hopes that the pool would warm up but 1/18/25. But when we tried the "indoor pool" the second day, it was still freezing cold and unusable. Upon notifying the staff, we were told by a different staff member that they do not heat their indoor pool at all. We also told the staff that we had stayed the second day because we had just tried to use the luke warm "hot tub." But this didn't work either because families had their young children Repeatedly Running and Jumping into the middle of the barely warm "hot tub" and splashing us in the face etc. The particular child had to land mostly dead center of the "hot tub" so that he didn't get injured by landing on the concrete seating ledge around the inside of the "hot tub."
And the family was doing this because they couldn't swim in the Ice Cold "indoor pool," either. We had to just get out of the "hot tub."
We asked for a refund and did leave the next day of 1/19/25.
After our repeated calls to Hampton Corporate, we are still being charged $118 for 1/17 and $157 for 1/18. We only received back our 5,000 points but the price increased. The original charge as going to be $206 for both days, not $275. So, they gave us nothing back by increasing the charge for that second day.
I have repeatedly spoken to Hampton Corporate and was told there's nothing they can do.
Hotel is a complete Bait & Switch Disgrace. Hampton Corporate for inappropriate for doing "nothing."

We specifically chose this hotel (even though it was pricier than other options) because it allowed pets and had a pool and hot tub for a little weekend get away. I called ahead to confirm, as sometimes pools are out of service, and was told YES everything was operating. Everyone was excited to go!
Once we arrived, we planned on spending several hours in the pool area. Unfortunately, the pool was VERY cold. Likely in the mid 60s. The sign on the door said the hot tub wasn't functioning. The hot tub was closer to pool temperature - maybe 75°. The water that had pooled on the tile floor was actually warmer than the hot tub. The chemicals were so pungent that myself and several people were having a hard time breathing without coughing and my eyes were burning and tearing even though I didn't get into the water. Our daughter tried to swim for about 5 minutes but couldn't tolerate the cold temp.
Pet fee was an extra $50 for the night - would have been tolerable had the amenities worked but other hotels were $15.
There was a "motion sensing" light in the bathroom that blinded everyone in the middle of the night, multiple times, and then decided to strobe for 10 minutes.
The area doesn't have much except a casino. The pool was our planned entertainment. Nearest family friendly activites were about a 20 min. drive away.
We were very disappointed with the hotel as they were not honest. Wasted money and drive time.
