Clean safe hotel

Nice clean hotel with free breakfast. We stayed in a 2 queen suite. The room was a decent size-1 television could have used 2 for the sitting area. It was very hot outside-our ac in room work ok- fan didn’t circulate. The main floor was hot probably 79 degrees. The indoor pool area was hot too. They just keep ac from cooling to conserve $$$. The breakfast was very good-eggs ,bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, one day was cheese omelettes & mini quiche.
Waffle maker, muffins, toast, cereal, yogurt & bagels. This is a safe place next to Porsche. Only complaint was the AC needs to be turned on.

I was at least able to sleep...

I briefly looked over the Google Reviews and reserved a room here because it was close to a concert venue. When we went into our room, the lid of the bucket for the ice was not clean. The light over one bed was broken. The bed sheets had stains. They switched us to another room with cleaner sheets, a clean lid of the bucket, and a fixed light. However, the mini fridge was really weak so a lot of our leftover foods were wasted. The customer service was good but it didn't make up for how bad the room was. The new caulk on the bathroom counter was poorly applied over the bad caulk. Some wallpaper was peeling. After I bought some Starbucks frappuccino bottles and checked out, I realized later in the day that the bottles had expired by 2 months. This is the first time I have ever had a bad hotel experience and I consider myself pretty tolerant in general.

The Heater had the bad smell and full of mold, like never been serviced. I asked for the difference room hover it was not available so we left for a different hotel.
Hotel look clean and room was clean except the heater with bad moldy smell.

Family visit

I'm writing this in hope that this will reach Mr. Marriott's office: I want to commend the exemplary service I received from the part time breakfast host (Dexter?) all the way to the General Manager. I have been in the industry 30 years & many years as a GM myself, but this woman was outstanding. I witnessed her working the morning desk (7-3) AND came back at 10PM and she was cleaning rooms! As a GM, I always pull out the furniture & inspect--this property may be older, but it is immaculate! This entire experience reignited my passion for the industry & made me want to rejoin the Marriott family! (I once had a Residence Inn)--I just wanted to let everyone know this GM is phenomenal & is running our new go-to hotel when we visit family in Sugarland. This woman embodies the very essence of the Marriott vision of hospitality.

My daughter and her family stayed for a volleyball tournament. They had to be at the game complex early so they needed breakfast. The front desk the night before said they could get food if it was out. The next morning they went to get some food and were chastised by the breakfast lady. Not hospitable behavior for a hotel.
